01. Conference Highlights: Four Zones Collaborate to Build a Comprehensive Titanium Zirconium Industry Chain The Green Petrochemical and New Materials Industry Integration Innovation Conference is one of the series of activities of the 4th Maoshang Conference. The conference lasted for two days and included two major parts: on-site inspection and discussion and exchange. On the afternoon of October 15th, the attending representatives arrived at the hotel one after another to report. The next day, the inspection team focused on visiting Maoming New City, Maoming Petrochemical Company Chemical Branch, Guangdong Yueqiao New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. Titanium Exhibition Hall, and Guanggang Port in Bohe New Port District of Maoming Port. Through these inspections, participants gained a deep understanding of Maoming's latest achievements and development blueprint in the fields of green petrochemicals and new materials. On October 17th, the official conference was held at the Maoming Convention and Exhibition Center. The meeting conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as the overall layout and planned development route of the titanium zirconium industry in South China Titanium Valley, and the new ecology of the integrated industry of "petrochemical titanium zirconium equipment". 02. Industrial Planning: The Grand Blueprint of South China Titanium Valley At the meeting, the planning and progress of the "South China Titanium Valley" became the focus. Maoming City has included the overall plan for the titanium zirconium new material industry in the formulation of the city's "15th Five Year Plan", forming a development pattern of "high-tech core zone, coastal agglomeration zone, Gaozhou expansion zone, and electric and white linkage zone". As the main unit of the "South China Titanium Valley" chain, Guangdong Yueqiao New Material Technology Co., Ltd.'s titanium zirconium new material project has been fully launched. The first phase of the titanium zirconium new material project, with a total investment of approximately 18.6 billion yuan, will have multiple projects undergoing trial production in 2026. The relevant person in charge of Yueqiao Company introduced that this project is the only highly intensive titanium zirconium full industry chain project in the country that is concentrated in the port area. After the two-stage project is fully completed and put into operation, it can achieve an annual output value of about 51.5 billion yuan, an industrial added value of about 14 billion yuan, profits and taxes of about 12 billion yuan, and solve the employment of 4000 people. 03. Integrated Innovation: Deep Collaboration between Titanium Materials and Green Petrochemicals Titanium has become a key material for industrial upgrading in fields such as green petrochemicals and people's livelihood applications due to its corrosion resistance and lightweight characteristics. Li Xueyong, Deputy General Manager of China Petroleum&Chemical Corporation Maoming Branch, discussed with industry representatives at the conference on the integration of green petrochemicals and materials, and explored the new ecology of the "petrochemical titanium zirconium equipment" integrated industry. Hao Bin, Secretary General of the Titanium Materials Production and Application Branch of the China Building Materials Market Association, explores the industrial linkage and development potential from the perspective of the national titanium and petrochemical industries. Hao Bin believes that the convening of this conference will not only help explore the organic integration path between the titanium industry and the traditional chemical industry, but also cultivate new growth points for the titanium industry in the petrochemical field. At the same time, it is also conducive to promoting the transformation of Maoming Petrochemical towards "green petrochemical", attracting more enterprises to settle down, improving the Maoming titanium industry chain, and strengthening the titanium zirconium new material industry cluster. Former chief expert of Sinopec, Han Jianyu, professionally interpreted the close connection between the petrochemical industry and new materials from a technical perspective. This in-depth exchange between industry, academia, and research provides theoretical support and technical pathways for the deep integration of titanium materials and green petrochemicals. 04. Enterprise response: Cooperation opportunities and on-site inspections The representatives of participating companies showed great enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate in this conference. Zhou Jianming, General Manager of Changzhou Mingjie Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd., as a representative attending the conference, stated that his company's main business is the research and development, production, and sales of non-standard equipment and molds, with a strong demand for titanium materials. The main purpose of coming here this time is to conduct on-site inspections of the business situation of our partners and achieve substantive cooperation, "said Zhou Jianming. He had previously communicated with Guangdong Yueqiao New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and was quite interested in the company's production and application in the field of titanium zirconium new materials. This time, he focused on understanding the equipment scale and production capacity of the enterprise, hoping to promote cooperation. We also look forward to visiting Maoming Petrochemical Company and seeking more opportunities for cooperation in production equipment. Secretary General Hao Bin expressed great confidence in the future development of the titanium industry in Maoming. He believes that Maoming has a superior geographical location, adjacent to the titanium ore producing areas of Guangxi and Yunnan, with convenient transportation. In addition, with a solid foundation in the petrochemical industry, a complete industrial chain can be formed in the process of raw material processing, production, and application. 05. Advantages of Maoming: A Solid Foundation for Industrial Transformation As the "Southern Oil City" and a super large petrochemical base in southern China, as well as an energy base in Guangdong Province, Maoming has gathered global leading enterprises such as Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Company and BASF from Germany. It is an important pivot for the green petrochemical equipment industry in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Maoming High tech Zone has formed a "3+2" industrial pattern of coordinated development of three leading industries: green petrochemicals, fine chemicals, and titanium zirconium new materials, as well as two emerging industries: pharmaceuticals, health, and equipment manufacturing. Meanwhile, as a national first-class open port, Guanggang Port in Bohe New Port Area of Maoming Port is the core support of the "South China Titanium Valley" and "Coastal Agglomeration Zone". In the future, this will become a port distribution center and bulk trading market for titanium zirconium ore resources, providing strong support for a billion dollar industrial cluster. 06. Future Outlook: Blueprint for Green and Innovative Development With the conclusion of the conference, Maoming has drawn a clear industrial transformation roadmap: relying on the foundation of traditional petrochemical industry, taking advantage of the development opportunity of titanium zirconium new materials industry, and building a complete titanium zirconium industry chain from "mineral processing" to "end products" through "strengthening chain, supplementing chain, and extending chain". From the control room of the Chemical Division of Maoming Petrochemical Company to the Titanium Exhibition Hall of Yueqiao Company, from the construction site of Maoming New City to the Guanggang Port in Bohe New Port District, this city, known as the "Southern Oil City", is writing a transformation story from a traditional petrochemical base to a world-class innovation highland for green petrochemical and new material industry clusters. |
